Blustery!

The most perennially delightful thing I saw today was a leaf on a third-floor carpet.

There's a point each year when fall enters the building, when a couple of sometimes locked doors and a security guy are no match for the forces of nature.

The willow trees outside have been quietly dropping their slender leaves. An all-night rain, and a rainy and windy morning, created the phenomenon that delights every year.

Through the first set of glass doors -- willow leaves on the floor.

Through the second set of doors and up the steps -- willow leaves in the lobby.

Onto the elevator -- one willow leaf.

Up, up to the top floor ... Yes. The willow leaves have come to work, hitching rides on our shoes.

  1. It's wonderful how nature finds its way into even unexpected places.
