Took a weekend road trip. Left the laptop home. Didn't regret it for a nanosecond. Catching up now.
Friday, Sept. 5:
1. Road trip!
2. Friend not minding when I arrived late to commence road trip.
3. The wordless cooperative tidying, removing and tossing at each pit stop the trash of the snacks from the previous pit stop.
4. The rare treat of a five-hour conversation with a friend, in the intimate space of a moving car.
5. Upon arrival at the festival grounds, both our necks being hugged simultaneously by someone we've watched grow up over the years.
6. Dinner: corned beef slider!
7. Hearing the first toe-tapping set of a weekend's worth of this music that beats in my blood.
Saturday, Sept. 6:
1. Hearing some beloved songs and tunes performed.
2. Hearing a new song that might become a beloved.
3. Quiet time on a wooden walkway through the small forest.
4. Dinner at the Greek place.
5. A brief nap before a full evening.
Sunday, Sept. 7: 1. Affirming words, from many sources.
2. An easy drive home, and the "Welcome to Arkansas" sign.
3. The heart-healthy exercise of laughing to the point that I couldn't speak or see straight.
4. Ice cream for lunch, and a home-cooked dinner.
5. My own bed.
How was your weekend? How was your day?
