43. The writing life

Tonight, looking for things I've written that might be ready to send out in search of a publishing home, I spent some time rereading what I wrote last fall during The Writing Life, a 12-week online workshop offered through Tweetspeak Poetry.

There were some pieces I'd forgotten. I'm glad I wrote them, even if I wrote them only for me. They wouldn't exist if not for the workshop's assignments. The dynamic duo of Kroeker & Craig were marvelous workshop leaders, and I'm looking forward to their book based on that workshop, due out in December.

Today is full of gratitude related to the writing life, for felicitous assignments, encouragement, astute suggestions, receptivity, fruitful phone conversations, good questions, figuring things out together. Today I am grateful for Charity Singleton CraigAnn Kroeker, Jenni SimmonsMeaghan Ritchey, and Nancy Nordenson.

Who enriched your life today?

  1. I would love to hold something in my hands that you have written. It'd be like a wonderfully familiar, comfy, blanket wrapped around my shoulders, telling me that all is well with the world.
