52. Sentences

Cornbread, sliced and toaster-ovened until the edges are crispy, then drizzled with honey, is not only a delicious breakfast but also a nostalgic one, because it reminds me of the Corn Toasties that Dad used to bring home from Nickles Bakery.

The light on the trees outside Dillard's headquarters on the way home was the kind that would have made Matisse want to set up his easel and paint them.

The river was flowing strong and loud through the dam under the Big Dam Bridge, so I could sing without other walkers hearing me.

The cat just cracks me up sometimes with her deadpan humor routines.

My inner little girl is feeling happily fallish about rereading a Narnia book.

For these, and the pleasure of writing sentences, and other goodnesses of the day too private to share with the world, I am grateful.
