1. Wrapping up a writing assignment this morning with an editor I love working with.
2. Someone at work giving me a book she'd gotten in the mail because she thought it was the kind of thing I'd like, and even the kind of thing I'd like to make someday. She was right.
3. Gold leaves everywhere. Seeing them dance in the wind. Seeing them fill the gutters and potholes. Scuffling through a pile of them.
4. Dinner with friends who have become familiar enough that we can talk about anything.
5. The wildly inventive and warmly affectionate virtual surprise party for Ann Kroeker and Charity Singleton Craig, a dynamic duo who just published a book, On Being a Writer: 12 Simple Habits for a Writing Life That Lasts.
And you? What have you loved about this one day, unlike any before or to come?
