A friend from out of town came with me to church this morning.
The seemingly simple Lord's prayer has layers of richness. We spent nearly an hour discussing it this morning, and were just getting started.
The crescent moon hung low and bright like a big pita pocket.
If I had to limit myself to, say, 10 websites, one of them would be Brain Pickings. I was delighted to see this post, about Daybook by Anne Truitt, a book that has long stayed with me and made a deep impression, ever since I found it in Jay's Bookstall in Pittsburgh when I was a 20something grad student. I'm thrilled to see that it's still (or back) in print.
I'm thankful for memory, which is one of the places I keep this sentence from Daybook: "Work is the backbone of a properly conducted life, serving at once to give it shape and to hold it up."
How was your Sunday?
