I am acquainted with many people I have never met but hope to someday. Here are five who popped up on the radar screen today, in alphabetical order by first name.
Kelly Greer, who probably doesn't realize what an encouragement she has been to me.
Lane Arnold, for her wisdom, her ways of paying attention, her enactments of joy.
Mary DeMuth, for that time she got strawberry jam on a copy of Everything: What You Give and What You Gain to Become Like Jesus and offered it in a random drawing, which I won, which introduced me to her writing; for the ways she turns pain to purpose; and for her reminder that the only confining cage around this bird is the one I construct myself.
Meaghan Ritchey, for her work at The Curator, and for giving me meaningful editing work there after editing work elsewhere came to a natural end.
Rhonda Quaney, for many good deeds behind the scenes. (We were actually in the same place once, the Jumping Tandem retreat in Nebraska in 2013; alas, we didn't meet. Here's to fixing that at the Jumping Tandem retreat in Nebraska in 2015.)
P.S. With a little warm water, a rag, and patience, that jam wiped right off.
Whom are you thankful for that you have yet to meet?
Laura - What a blessing to be on your gratitude list. I do remember seeing you at Jumping Tandem in 2013, but we didn't get the chance to talk. I am looking forward to that time as I am enjoying getting to know you from afar. You bless me. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome, Kelly. And thank you for all the good you put into this world.
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me smile. Mostly because you are the one who is a blessing to many behind the scenes and who I am grateful for. By the books that you sent to give away to others, I got to peer into your heart a little.... and it was so fun and beautiful. The books we buy really do say a lot about who we are or what God is speaking to us. So thankful for you too Laura!
