17. Friends with new books

Five good things today:

An ache that improved overnight.

A note with just the words I needed to hear.

Seeing a photo of an actual three-dimensional copy of Barbara Mahany's soon-to-be-released book, Slowing Time: Seeing the Sacred Outside Your Kitchen Door (and remembering meeting her in April at the Festival of Faith and Writing); and seeing a photo of the cover of Ann Kroeker and Charity Singleton Craig's to-be-released-sometime-this-year book, On Being a Writer: 12 Simple Habits for a Writing Life That Lasts (and remembering the wondrous workshop they led last fall, on which the book is based).

Spending nothing today except two dimes and a nickel in a parking meter.

Watching a stunning moonrise.

What did you like about your day?
